Cicada just received a DMA in Music Composition from Temple University. Former work includes a position as Associate Director at the University of Michigan's Center for Performing Arts and Technology and co-founding and working for MediaStation, a multimedia software development company. In addition to instrumental and choral works, he enjoys creating sound montage using recorded sounds, creating visual music, computer animation and working with choreographers and artists. He has also recently been involved in creating interactive audio visual works. Recent festivals including his work were The ElectroAcoustic Juke Joint, Intermedia Festival of Telematic Arts, SoundCrawl Nashville 2010 and SEAMUS 2011. Brokaw's most recent award was an Honorable Mention in the composition competition "Migratory Journeys" hosted by the Chicago's Chinese Fine Arts Society.
